testo=<B>Tin</B><BR>Tin is a silvery, malleable, post transition metal which is not easily oxidized in air. It is corrosion resistent and therefore applied in many alloys and to coat other more oxidizing metals. It has a particular crystalline structure causing a characteristic sound when a bar of tin is bent. Furthermore, it looses its ductility and becomes brittle if heated. Tin is one of the first metals known. since ancient times, it was used as a copper alloy making the former much harder and producing an alloy known as bronze. In modern times, tin was substituted foe aluminium in many applications.
